Before you dive in here, check out the 2-minute video on the bottom of the homepage. It might answer your questions.
I can support your writing from the conceptualization and framing of your book (the Blueprint), to the writing of your chapters (Developmental Editing), to generating a proposal for publication (the Book Proposal), to pitching to an agent or publisher (the Pitch Package).
For a more detailed description of my services, check out the Services page.
You are welcome to select as many or as few of my services as makes sense for your particular needs. Whatever services you choose, you (or I) could decide not to move forward at any point between completing one package and going on to the next. My hope is that such an arrangement lends useful shape to the project and a sense of agency and freedom to the relationship.
My offerings do not include copyediting – fixing grammar, punctuation and spelling. For those services, you would need to work with a copyeditor. Preliminarily you could make use of the spell- and grammar-check functions in your Word application, or an external software like Grammarly.
What I do offer is developmental editing – the service of reading and advising on the coherence, voice and arc of your chapters and book. This is page-by-page and line-by-line review – the deep work on your prose, whereas copyediting is focused on surface polish.
Helping you find focus and discern your writing priorities are both core to my services. Together, we can figure out your topic and which of your book options is most urgent for you now!
I love beginners. As long as you have something to say and the commitment to make room for writing in your life, I can help you write your book.
There are no guarantees of traditional publication, especially in today’s market (and for a variety of reasons, you may decide that self-publication is the best option for your book). What I offer is the support to write the best, most marketable book you are capable of.
